Are there any online articles about how to adjust to this game? O8 seems to change more shorthanded than any other game.

I don't know of any that haven't been mentioned.
One thing that applies in full ring and even more in shorthanded is being able to play the blinds well. If you're -0.15BB/hand in the SB and -0.25BB/hand in the BB in full ring then you're not going to be able to win much (if any) overall. In shorthanded if you lose that much in the blinds then you're definately going to be a loser since they're a higher percentage of your overall hands. I know for a fact that -0.05BB/hand in the SB and -0.10BB/hand in the BB are attainable in full ring. The key is learning to play marginal hands well and that doesn't mean folding a lot on the flop. Remember, every time you fold on the flop you have lost money and that can be hard to make up in a split pot game with few opponents. |
