No, never even heard of it. Sounds cool. I'm assuming it's Bill Reynolds from the ProJo? I hate that guy. He writes these short bullet-style columns that annoy the hell out of me.

Probably the same guy.

It's a good book, I think, although you would know better, being from the area. It follows Durfee during Herren's senior year.

EDIT: Has a lot of background about the town, too, including some insight to Herren's drug problems (though you have to extrapolate those, since all his trouble became public after that time).

Did you guys decide on the financial stuff yet? Though I know minimal about basketball I'd want to do it, but due to me blowing paychecks on alcohol/rent I'm broke right now. Pretty much, I couldn't drop the 200 for the 100 dollar this year and the 100 dollar deposit for next year.

Financial stuff is in the long rules post by Clarkmeister. Short version is lets say salary cap is 65 M. Everybody pays $65 up front. If you're over the cap at on opening day, you owe the amount you are over the cap at that point. Then if you are over the cap at the trading deadline, you owe the amount you are over the cap again. So if you are at or under the cap the entire year, you will only owe $65 for the whole year. But lets say your cap number is 75 M on opening day, and 70 M at the trade deadline, you would then have to pay $80 for the season = 65 + 10 + 5.

Update:

Here's what Clark and I discussed. The cap for the first year is going to be 66 M. We would like everyone to pay $132 up front. This will pay your 1st year league fee, and act as a deposit towards any luxury tax due/2nd year league's fee. Just for reference, the cap does slowly go up, so next years league fee will probably be something like $70. This will hopefully lock people in for at least the first two years, where you really need to work on building your team.

On second thought, going to remove my name from the list. Have application work to take care of and I don't want this league to interfere with that.
