Help Me Settle an Argument
So here's the deal. I share a 3 bedroom apartment with two other guys, we're all law students. There is one master bedroom with its own bathroom, and then two smaller bedrooms, along with another 1.5 bathrooms in the apartment. When we all first moved into the apartment, we decided that since the master bedroom was much larger, and had its own bathroom, whoever had it would pay more. With the understanding that the overall rent was $1,000 a month for the whole place, we decided to just do bidding on it, starting at $335, and whoever was willing to pay the most for it would get it. I bid $410 for it, and was the highest bidder, so I ended up paying $410 a month, and each of my two apt-mates paid $295 a month.
After two weeks of living there, it turned out the apt-complex actually made a mistake with our rent (having to do with the fact that we signed a 9 month lease versus a 6 month lease, among other problems), and our rent was lowered to $900 a month, a $100 a month windfall for all of us (or so I thought). It is my opinion, and the opinion of one of my other apt-mates, that we should just reduce all of our monthly payments by $33 dollars. It is the opinion of my third apartment mate that he and the other guy should have their payments reduced by $50 a month, and I should continue paying the $410, since that is what I bid on it. My counter to that is that I bid the $410 with the knowledge that the apartment was worth $1,000 a month, and that I woulnd't have bid $410 for 1 out of three bedrooms in an apartment that only cost $900 a month, paying almost half the rent. I have offered to redo the bidding because this position has annoyed me, but that apt-mate counters that he does not want to have to move all his stuff again. Who is right? Input appreciated, feel free to post your justification as to how you voted, as I would like to either hear arguments to convince me why I am wrong, or have arguments to help convince my other apt-mate that he is wrong.

it should be in porportion. If you are paying 410 @ 1000/mo it should be x 410 - * - 900 1000 cross multiply and figure for x. This is what you should pay. ($41 off) I thought about that too, but I'm not trying to explain that math to him (Like I said, we're all law students, and I'm the only poker player).
