Stud hi - two weird split aces hands against same villain
Read on Seat 3: Just a terrible terrible player. In o8 is he a typical calling station. In Razz he completed with a Q on a full table, and then cold called two more bets when it got back to him. This is the kind of terrible he is.
The hands are in chronological order (important, I think). 7 Card Stud High ($3/$6), Ante $0,50, Bring-In $1 (converter) 3rd Street - (1.33 SB) Seat 1: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___calls___calls Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___completes Seat 3: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___calls Seat 4: xx xx A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds Seat 5: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds Seat 6: xx xx 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds Seat 7: xx xx 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___brings-in___folds Seat 8: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds 4th Street - (4.67 SB) Seat 1: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___calls Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___bets Seat 3: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___calls 5th Street - (3.83 BB) Seat 1: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___folds Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___bets___calls Seat 3: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___raises 6th Street - (7.83 BB) Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___checks___calls Seat 3: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___bets River - (9.83 BB) Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___checks___calls Seat 3: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] xx___bets Total pot: (11.83 BB - $71) Hand 2: 7 Card Stud High ($3/$6), Ante $0,50, Bring-In $1 (converter) 3rd Street - (1.33 SB) Seat 1: xx xx J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___folds Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___raises___calls Seat 3: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___raises Seat 4: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___calls Seat 5: xx xx 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___brings-in___folds Seat 6: xx xx 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___folds Seat 7: xx xx T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___folds Seat 8: xx xx Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___completes___folds 4th Street - (11.67 SB) Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___checks___calls Seat 3: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___bets Seat 4: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___calls 5th Street - (7.33 BB) Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___checks___folds Seat 3: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___bets Seat 4: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___calls |

Re: Stud hi - two weird split aces hands against same villain
First hand looks fine. Given your characterization of opponent, I think it's right to look him up.
Second hand, I'd probably cap third. I'm not convinced that fifth is a fold. Seat 4 should not have a flush. Perhaps he called three bets on third with a three-flush when two of his suit were gone, but if he did that, presumably he'd call three bets with a lot of other crap. You shut down after your initial raise on third, so the raiser may well think you have something other than Aces. I'm guessing he could be raising with a lot of things to isolate the live one. The hand that makes the most sense is rolled Sevens, but I'm not necessarily going to give him credit for those right away. I don't think it's a terrible fold, but I'd probably call and hope. |
