Default .5/1, Unsure of river decision 88 vs. awful river card

villain is LAG, 38/14/2.5 over 30 at this time...

only notes on him: he raised A3o in bb, vs. bt limper and sb who completed, cbet flop and turn ui, bet river when he hit his 3...

should I be check calling this river? seemed weak at the time... I'm assuming my play up to the river is standard, if not please let me know...

There isn't much you beat but King high and better will often call. I think the debate is between check/calling and bets/calling. It's a very big pot and you think villain is LAG.

The river obviously is a scary card, but if villain is a LAG who pulls "moves" a lot of the time you absolutely cannot fold the river in this big pot. He'll bet a 6 or a 3 often enough to make a call profitable IMO.

Only thing you beat here is a bluff. Unless he's a chronic bluffer, I give him credit for a flush and fold.

At 0,5/1 I would check/call this river. You're likely to be beat but you must call the river in this big pot at this level. Try to get to SD as cheap as possible. If there's a bet and a call or raise you can fold, but against a bet and a fold you must call.

As played I would call, off course you're probably beat but desperate riverbluffs occur often enough on 0,5/1 to make this call slightly profitable.
