Re: NL 100: Hows my line?
I check behind, only because he could have a hand like 77. Actually, w/ the PF raise, that is the only hand I could put him on that beats me.
But, you don't want to face a raise on that river. |

Re: NL 100: Hows my line?
preflop, typically raise a hand like this from LP, but I basically never open limp. I'm raising that flop all day baby, your equity goes way down on a blank turn, but right now it's huge. Do everything possible to get you $ in on the flop. On the turn, don't minraise, especially on a draw heavy board. Put in a healthy pot sized raise. On the river, I value bet for 1/2 pot.

Re: NL 100: Hows my line?
I raise 54s preflop from the CO, especially with the button and blinds having full stacks. On the flop, I'm raising his bet 3.5x and calling a push. If he calls the flop, I'm now very happy to get it in on the turn before a river card kills our action. We've probably got him drawing to trips or a 2/6 but villain doesn't know this.
You need to stick a large raise in somewhere. If you're waiting for the turn, fine, but don't minraise. You want his stacks and this isn't going to happen with a pot of around $30 on the river. As played, check behind. |

Re: NL 100: Hows my line?
I'd raise or fold preflop but mainly raise. I hate limping first in from late postion, especially with 5 high.
Thats a pretty good flop for your hand. I'd raise here to about $16 to try and build the pot. If he comes over the top then I'd likey just stick it in. As played i'd raise more on the turn and make a small value bet on the river. |

Re: NL 100: Hows my line?
I like to raise this hand preflop, or fold it. Calling isn't horrible though. Obviously call his minraise.
Raise the flop. You have a humangous draw. Even against AA you're a 56.8% favourite. Raise more on the turn. I would make it at least 3x his bet which is $24. I would probably actually make it $32 which sets the river up for an easy shove. If he shoves call happily. As played valuebet the river for whatever amount you think JJ will call. I might bet something like $25 or $30. Checking behind because he might have 77 is very weak. |

Re: NL 100: Hows my line?
JJ might call on the river after calling the turn minraise, but there are very few hands that will call here that we beat. I'd be happy to just finish the hand here and not have to deal with a check-raise on the river.
The problem with this hand is that OP didn't build a big enough pot preflop/on the flop/on the turn, not the question of whether he should check behind or value bet. |

[ QUOTE ]
JJ might call on the river after calling the turn minraise, but there are very few hands that will call here that we beat. [/ QUOTE ] 99+ all fit with the action so far and they all call a bet. |
