Is it possible to play poker via satellite?
I was thinking of buying a yacht and sailing around the world. The catch is having internet access good enoguh for poker. I can get satellite internet on a sailboat, but i think there is a some sort of delay. Is it possible to play poker on a satellite connection? Also, does anyone have any other wisdom on this matter?

If you're in orbit, wouldn't the chips start floating off the felt?

Re: Is it possible to play poker via satellite?
it's a little slower than broadband, and there are disconnects; no-limit might be a bad idea. I've used it land based in the Bahamas, and playing poker worked just fine. A dense cloud will disconnect you, though, and you wouldn't want half your stack in with the nuts... check with West Marine re latest technology.

Other then the possible disconnect issues and the 1 second minimum lag time (hint, normal Internet broadband delay is between 50-100ms, not 1000ms+) it would "work" fine.
