I'm not real sure why he can't have a 6; he should always be checking the river with a 6 and imo thats his most likely holding.

Im sorry but this is a quick way to the poor house and I doubt strass would raise here with an A. I suspect he has a 6 or something better. You are probably donating your whole stack to him there by pushing that river. At best though, you get him to fold a bluff.
