Default First-time investor - where do I trade? Non-US fwiw

OK So I finally got to the point where I have some excess bankroll I'd like to invest. Long-term, so probably mostly indexes.

Where do I put my money? The simpler (and obv less fees) the better - all I want is to wire money to and fro, and make a few trades. No estate planning, no life insurance (my fn bank tried to get me on some investment plan that would keep making payments if I died in exchange for 5%, wtf?), etc etc.

Oh and not a US citizen.
