Default 2 monitor issue

New Dell (Dec) w/ NVIDIA GeFOrce 7300 LE video card. I have a standard 19inch (1280/1060 or something) resolution and just bought a widescreen 19 w/ 1440x900 max resolution. problem is it only goes up to 1360x768. What am I doing wrong/how do I fix this? It is possible to have 2 monitors on one video card, right? Even if one is ws and one standard?

thanks

Can you get the ws monitor to full resolution when it is the only one plugged in? I would try that, if it worked, then I would add the next monitor and what happened.

If you cannot get the full wide screen resolution with only that monitor plugged in then your video card doesn't support it. Before upgrading your video card see if there is an updated driver for it that supports that resolution.

"brand new" means nothing.....get the latest driver first. I don't care if you were the first person on the planet to buy a brand new piece of hardware. Best practivce is to not bother w/ the manufacturer's CD and get the latest driver......it takes time to get products on shelves.
