Halladay has a career 7k/9ip rate, you're retarded.

Wang is like the biggest outlier in the history of baseball.

Great examples.

, I can name dozens more if u want.

no you cant.

wang outs the ball on the ground a ton. halladay does all important things (K/BB/HR/GB%) at a good enough level to be elite....he does none of them to an extreme that wang does, but hes better at gertting K's and avoiding walks. pitchers who dont K a lot of guys but succeed are usually REALLY good at something else...even that sometimes isnt enough (carlos silva)...they are also rare so you cant name dozens of them.

he exaggerated, but no not really.....look at it like this...put the names of all MLB pitchers who have really low K rates in a hat....pick one (or ten) chances are they will all suck.

I was simply just stating two pitchers from our respective teams. Halladay's numbers in K have gone down over the past few years. I was trying to refer to him in current state.

I guess our definition of "strikeout pitcher" is different. Personally I would consider a strikeout pitcher someone who can put up 180+ strikeouts in a season.

In regards to examples, lets go with the 4 playoff teams in NL and their top 2 pitchers.

Mets
Glavine - No
Pedro - Yes

Cubs
Zambrano-Yes
Lilly-No

DiamondBacks
Webb-Yes
Davis-No

Padres
Peavy-Yes
Maddux-No

Does that make you happy? Their are power pitchers, control pitchers, groundout pitchers, and others. They all can be good in their own way.

Glavine isn't good anymore.

Lilly has a 9k/9ip ratio.

Doug Davis sucks.(Though he does have 7k/9 so awful example)

Maddux isn't good anymore.

Keep em coming!
