This is going to sound really stupid but can someone tell me what $5time/down means?

Each time a new dealer shows up (every 30 minutes or so), each player at the table pays $5 time charge. The game is not raked.

Every time a new dealer enters the box (25-30 minutes) you have to pay $5 for the luxury of playing poker. You do not have a raked pot, you pay essentially $10 an hour to play.

Boredom is a major problem you need to be ready for. Youre going to see massive amounts of obtuse donkishness. The pace is mind numbingly slow. And, most tables will have 1-2 other competent players. The Borgata rocks when its open seating at 1/2 because you have a modicum of game selection.
Im not sure if TAG is the best at 1/2.......You want these guys to have every opportunity to make mistakes.

Either this weekend or the next. Boredom is not an issue for me. I am very good at keeping composed. When i played 2/4 in AC and Vegas i did really well just being really patient.

In the 1/2 game, are the players generally loosepassive or loose aggressive?

loose passive. You too should loosen up and see cheap flops with a lot of hands in late position. They will call pre flop raises with practically anything.

Post flop, expect big bets and raises to be called by any pair or any draw. Do not get fancy in this game! It is extremely difficult to put these players on a hand. This is a game of patience.

If you don't see 2 total morons at your table, you should leave and find a better game.

Hear, hear. Your biggest enemy is not going to be your opponents, who wouldn't survive long in most online NL25 games. Your biggest enemy will be yourself. When you've folded every hand for three orbits (i.e., almost an hour), that J9s UTG can start looking frighteningly good.

Listening to how you guys talk about the game being easier than $25NL and the only problem being boredom is making me excited to play. When i finally make it down there i will provide a trip report.
