Default Matt Damon : Douche or Decent?

This is no simple topic, as far as I am concerned. Let's start with a few movies he's been in. You may wish to consult the wikipedia entry before submitting your vote / thoughts.

In my opinion he is decent. I thought Good Will Hunting was a great watch. I'm a huge fan of Robert Ludlum novels and so really liked The Bourne Identity (although the original is millions of times better). Also the fact that he worked with Kevin Smith is a major boon for him.

So :

How is he a douchebag at all? I'm not a huge fan but I think most people would say he's at least decent.

This poll is too easy. What could the possible arguments be against Damon's decency? He's worked with the Farrelly Bros., Soderbergh, Martin Scorsese... he was awesome in The Talented Mr. Ripley, and his second film with Gus Van Sant, "Gerry," is one of the best films of this decade.

Come on, pick a more controversial actor.

We're supposed to judge him based on movies he's been on? If we went with this method, I would think Tom Cruise was the second-greatest person alive, behind only Sean Connery.

Or do you have personal knowledge of Damon that leads you to believe he's a toolbox?

Feel free to judge him on anything you want. I personally think he is decent but have heard many "I think he's a douche" comments in the past which is what lead me to create this poll.

Decent. Honestly, what's he supposed to do different?

You forget to include in the poll the choice "I think that the OP is a retard."

Oh, I get it. Because he's young, successful, attractive, friendly, and rich, some people think he's a douche. I get it.

How so? I tried but could not get into Gerry and I usually enjoy your more "artsy" films. Ending up fast forwarding to the end.

Damon is more than decent.
