Default Beard/Job Interview

I'm out of touch with corporate culture, I think, given that I've yet to make the jump from college to real world.

What's the acceptability of a short trimmed beard for a job interview? I'm talking about neck is shaved, beard is short and not spotty, etc. I know the safe play is to shave but how big of a deal is it? I'd like to work in a place where I could have the beard so I figure having it at the interview is a good way to ensure that.

On the other hand I'm running out of money and can't be too picky for the moment.

IMO a well cut beard will not be a dealbreaker.

Yeah I think a short, well-maintained beard is fine also.

It really depends on the employer and the interviewer. IMHO, as a recruiter at one time, if we had equal candidates, we would of chosen the clean shaven candidate over the bearded one.

It doesnt matter to me, its just a corporate bs rule.

As long as you appear well-groomed it should not be a deal breaker.

I shaved a pretty well groomed beard for a job interview(s) a few months back, but it was for a very conservative GOVT job. Really depends on the workplace I think.
