I don't agree. WSOP has been super successful without any international branding until now.

Compared to the rest of the tournaments we are discussing, the EPT finale, and aussie millions are a joke.

I dont play any touneys unless Im drunk or whatever, the wsop is the only serious tourneys that I think are even worth my attention. PERIOD!!!!! Wpt is whack, ept.... I dont even have an opinoin. WsopE... I dont give a f#$K!!! WSOP is it for me and is the only series of tourneys that mean a damn thing to me. Thats all there is to it.

It's similar to the reason that Roland De Wolfe is hyped as the only player to win both a WPT title and an EPT title. There's no correlation between those two feats (other than being considered "majors"), but because the names are similar, we (the media) treat is as more special than winning, say, Aussie Millions and a WPT title. The fact that the WSOP and the WSOP-E are run by the same corporate entity doesn't matter. A PokerStars WCOOP victory doesn't get lumped in with an EPT victory -- yet they are organized by the same corporate entity.



[/ QUOTE ]A spot on post BJ, although to correct you on this point, the EPT and the WCOOP are not run by the same organisation. The EPT is run by the EPT with major sponsorship from Poker Stars.

I think the reason that EPT & WPT titles are so highly valued is because they are major tlevised tours, whereas the Aussie is just a one-off. Like in golf when the European Tour atrted to drag in Australasian events, if it became part of the EPT say rather than simply an Aussie event, then it would probably be more highly thought of by the public, I think the players already rate it very highly.

One day I will play in the WSOP. I will not be going to Europe to do it. THE WSOP is held in VEGAS. The WSOPE Bracelets should be respected, but IMO (and that's what it comes down to - peoples opinions) not the same as WSOPV!!
