I'd guess about 10-15k for a basic no-risk type of hit by a professional.. But I think even a professional hitman varies his rate depending on various factors. Stuff like level of planning required, the risk of death during the job, accessibility of the target.

i watched a special on Columbia some time ago and the show said that their soccer teams arent as good as they could be because it only costs $20 to put a hit on someone there so stand out players usually get killed. so good players either get killed or refuse to play.

Pretty sick how low the number is when you think about it. I would say the average is skewed though because the type of people that are gonna to engage in hiring hitmen (and have any idea where to find one) are mostly degenerates anyhow.

I have no stats to back this up, but I've figured that the average in the U.S runs around 6-7k. I think that 12k number is a bit high, or at least it seems like it.

You can also get a lot of people to do it for less. It wouldn't be too hard to find someone to do it for at the most 2-3k.

Why would anyone hire a hitman? It seems like someone would have less of a chance of getting caught if they did it themselves. Reason is that with hiring a "hitman" you might find an undercover cop instead, and if the hitman gets caught the truth will come out for sure.

I guess people that are crazy enough to kill someone don't think about this though.

PS why does OP want to know anyway?

I was just reading today in Maxim or some magazine that Michael Irvin had a hit put out on him back in '96, and the downpayment was like $2,900. So if the typical DP is 10% then you're looking at $30K for a celebrity, championship-ringed WR.
