Nanny state roundup
I came across both of these news stories today. The theme is gross infringement of basic human rights for paternalistic purposes.
Australia decides that Aboriginal peoples are suffering from too little government intervention Britain, Ireland, and Italy: Freedom of speech? Never heard of it. Which of these is more appalling? On the one hand, pure censorship has always been particularly disgraceful because, as every schoolchild knows, "words can never hurt me." On the other hand, the blatant racism of the Australian program is pretty impressive. Thoughts? |

The differences are huge on several metrics. Treating them equally is a criminal disservice. There are American analogs. |

Re: Nanny state roundup
Awesome typo.
[ QUOTE ] Made for PS2 and Nintendo Wii consoles by Rockstar Games Inc, the game is a Sexual to "Manhunt", which also was criticised for its level of violence but which was nonetheless permitted to go on sale across Europe. [/ QUOTE ] |
