Default just a thought

Have you all read the Texas Hold 'em book by Phil Helmuth (sp)?

I like what he has to say about poker being a game about people, which just happens to be played with cards. Something has has put out, though, is in his view, the way to "get ahead" in limit HE is to play his "top 10" starting hands only. It seems like, though, that doing this might profit a little bit but could ultimately not do so well.

Limit HE is much more susceptible to straight/flush draws, and while you can jam the pot and throw off weak draws, it seems like the better straight/flush draws stay and get ya. So, even though there's not a set list that always works...do you think he's on the right track when it comes to micro-stakes limit?

It is impossible to win limit hold'em playing Phil's stratigy. The rest of the book is fair.

Impossible is too strong, with certain game conditions you could win playing only those ten hands.

But it's about as bad a strategy as you can take.

It was my first book ever ... and no, his limit advice is not optimal to say the least.

But all the player types and approach stuff is actually good.

If you want to play limit, find another book for the technical advice
