This is a play on the Brunson NL quote:

"NLHE is hours of boredom interspersed with moments of sheer terror" or something like this.

Yeah, put him at a table for an hour at a shorthanded 20/40 or 30/60 table on Party, surrounded by a bunch of 50/30 players and have him get back to us about how dull the whole experience was.

Why does he invariably lose the Stars heads-up challenge? Can't they get someone more exciting to play?

With the recent explosion of NoLimit Holdem this has become a common refrain.

I know that I am in the minority on this one but I find no limit more boring than limit. Waiting for some sunglasses wearing kid to stare down an opponent for what seems an eternity is interminably monotonous.

Plus, I am a short stack whore and that is a rather boring way to play but it has proven effective.

Sometimes the tone of the criticisms of limit holdem strikes of macho posturing.

I like nl if the stacks are deep. Otherwise there isnt that much to do. I mean in limit you can put in 8 bets and fold. In nl you are allin after 4 bets or something.

I'll add: Limit holdem is about praying for the combination of good cards and running well.

People that talk trash about limit hold em usually suck at poker.
