Default 100NL - Bluff gone right... kinda

villain is unknown. Thought I could rep a mid pp preflop/on the flop, then set on the turn. Plus I have 6 dirty outs that I was hoping to just check behind on the river if I hit. So yeah, I think I played every street weirdly (poorly???) and I'm also not sure what to do on the river. I was thinking maybe he has a low 2pair that's blocking?

wtf spew.

Raise on button? I dont like the flop call with air, and turn raise with air. The co has already shown strength so why are you trying to rep a stronger hand?

yeah i usually 3bet this.

anywayz, i think this is a pretty easy board to represent a monster (22/44/88/J8/mayb AJ) and he bet 1/3 pot on the turn, id hardly call that strength, id call it 'squeezing value with a weakish made hand'

edit - someone i was just talking to said shove river. I never even considered that. thoughts?

Pretty much hate the hand but I shove river as I think he often has a Jack here.

Shoving this river for value is terrible.

in general, you are committing suicide v an unknown here. why?

villain also played the hand weirdly. i think he has a jack at least. i think overall his range is ahead, but you are getting almost 4-1, so i think a crying call is in order

shoving the river is terrible, i almost suggested it as a joke, so the OP can misplay every street

lol, u guys are tripping. shoving the river would be the best thing OP could do in this hand. bad TAG's and fish love to half pot block bet the river with hands like AJ, QJ, QQ and TT, the thing is they are never good enough to actually fold to a push. THAT is why you almost never bluff shove here, which means conversely that value shoving is sweet. i think you might be surprised to see how often you will stack someone too stubborn to let their hand go, bcoz "there's no way this guy can have a king "

i should note however that i dont lilke pf, flop or turn much at all. but meh, no crime against experimenting with different lines. just make sure not to be a repeat offendor, remember the three strike policy SpecT
