5/10 - Hands in Pesos Are Confusing to Remember
I actually remember the stack sizes for this hand. This was live tonight at the APPT but I'm going to quote the stack sizes in pesos.
I'm pretty new to the table - played about 1 orbit. By far the youngest person there (so I automatically I assume I'm the best and that they're all really terrible - which was true). I had opened the last 2 pots on the button and CO and taken them down with flop bets and I get weird looks when I raise this 3rd hand in a row. Effective Stacks are 50k Pesos Blinds 200/400 I open to 1500 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Button calls. Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] He checks - I fire 2700 into a 3400 and he calls without much thought. Turn 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Thoughts if: A) I bet 7500 into the 8900 and he raises to 20k B) I check and he bets 3000 into the 8900 C) I check and he bets 3000 into the 8900, I checkraise to 12k and he makes it 30k? |

Re: 5/10 - Hands in Pesos Are Confusing to Remember
Effective Stacks are 4.5k Blinds $20/$40 I open to $135 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Button calls. Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] He checks - I fire $240 into a $300 and he calls without much thought. Turn 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Thoughts if: A) I bet $675 into the $800 and he raises to $1,800 B) I check and he bets $270 into the $800 C) I check and he bets $270 into the $800, I checkraise to $1,050 and he makes it $2,700? that should help, converted to usd (all of it is approximated) |

Re: 5/10 - Hands in Pesos Are Confusing to Remember
I check/call because:
Getting raised sucks, if he has something like a straight draw or lower flush draw he might fold to a bet, but he might attempt a bluff if we check. This is live full ring so I dunno though, I just hate getting raised here so I check/call. Check/raising means you should not play poker. |

A and C are pretty terrible lines, esp C. I would bet less on turn, but c/c is fine too.

I like a check-call here. No need to blow the pot up, but you're definitely in pretty decent shape here most of the time. Also, c/c might earn you a river bet that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Re: 5/10 - Hands in Pesos Are Confusing to Remember
Yea he didn't check - He just called my flop bet (in position obv).
I check called his bet on the turn and then led a spade river and he called with QJ. |

Against a lot of the bad live players i've played against, you'll get 3 streets of value here. B is fine though I guess
