Your quotation marks are messed up there. I assume you meant to say that Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany were "democratic," "constitutional" states. Right? Please?

The governments were democratically elected, and they had constitutions that were followed at least as well as ours was by Roosevelt. I repeat, what more do you want?

Some continuing democratic oversight and a constitutional that meaningfully protects individual liberties and constrains what the government can lawfully do. Obviously.
