Default Depressed? Homely? Lonely? Addicted? Suicidal?

Public service announcement:

I'm no doctor, though I play one at the local elementary school, but I know from depression. So:

- If you like cutting yourself just to see if you still bleed...
- If the people you feel closest to have avatars, locations and searchable posts...
- If you get poop-faced by yourself...
- If you're convinced you'll die a virgin, friendless and alone...
- If your inner monologue includes thoughts like "I'm just gonna load the gun to see how it feels" or "She doesn't know how much she loves me"...

... please go talk to a trained professional mental health person.

Schedule it for your lunch hour or whenever you sober up. Drive across town where no one will see you. If you can't pay, tell them up front on the phone. They may do free consults or know someone who does. It's so straightforward, even a shutin can do it!

If you post your sob story in OOT, we're all gonna say the same thing: you should strongly consider seeking out a properly trained mental health professional.

You don't need to make a cry-for-help gesture or post or attempt on your own life or health before you do something about getting better, just like you don't need to finish that pack before you quick smoking.

Just google "psychologist + zip code" in the lonesome watches of the night and leave a message on their office voice mail. The lady will call you back the next work day to set up an appointment. If your current doctor/therapist/PO sucks - get a new one.

TEENAGE SUICIDE/DEPRESSION/AGORAPHOBIA/ANXIETY DISORDER - DON'T DO IT

cause honestly, it's a boring downer, just like this post.

Gift them. To people who don't smoke. At work. During meetings.

I enjoyed this post. It helped me confirm that I am better than a segement of the population that has these problems.

TY Bison.

EDIT: In all seriousness though, Bison pretty much summed it up in his OP. Professional help is usually better than self-help, or OOT-help. Go see someone.

It's never too late to dig yourself out of the seemingly bottomless pit of depression.

Don't worry about being embarrassed. Don't worry about looking weak, or feeble. Everyone will think of you as a much stronger person if you actively get help, rather than resort to other means. Help is better than hurt.

This need to try and convince yourself that you are different or better than most people is painfully expressed in this italic quote mumbo jumbo. Like you were surprised at what you found in oot on a sat night? Crying in their beer is what happens on sat. You are smart enough to know that and it is why you came. To see it and feel superior, which is fine but rubbing it in like this is bs. I just did it to you it felt good thanks for being there for me.

Wrong. Chances are you can get a free assessment no matter where you live. From there they will direct you to a local non-profit that will bill you on a sliding scale if they bill at all.
