Re: NL25 TPTK facing donk 3 bet
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I definitely wouldn't be wanting to commit on this flop therefore I wouldn't have raised. [/ QUOTE ] why no commit? [/ QUOTE ] I think you have too much behind to get it AI profitably unless you have a lovely read. [/ QUOTE ] so just call flop? what if villian bets 1/2 pot on turn then what? [/ QUOTE ] A blank turn? You can probably call there too. It depends on his bet size. If he bets again on the turn I wouldn't change his range much from the flop. If he checks the turn you can probably check with intention of calling unless you have a read that he is passive and will not raise without a better hand AND will not bet big on the river without one. In that case you can make a half to 3/4 size bet and probably check behind on the river. |

Re: NL25 TPTK facing donk 3 bet
Help me understand the purpose for raising this flop. (I'm yet another one of those limit players making the transition to NL.) I can see some reasons to do it, for example:
1) Raise for value (if he will call the raise on a draw without proper odds or with a worse hand) 2) Take back control of the betting 3) Make a better hand fold (not very likely) What about just calling the flop, and bet the turn if checked to, or even check behind for pot control? |

Re: NL25 TPTK facing donk 3 bet
It is a tough spot that I think was made worse by the raise on the flop. Both of you are real deep and I don't think you want to invest that much on your TPTK. I would call flop and plan to call a small bet on turn. Then kick the dog when he shows a set or two pair.
