Does TT really make sense here though? After the flop, villain had third pair on a rainbow board and going to be needing some major help for a straight.

FWIW, if villain puts us on AA-QQ/AK after the flop cap, he's not too wrong by peeling one off getting 12:1 if he thinks we would check with AK on the turn. Then the turn call with about 6 outs doesn't look so bad getting almost 8:1.

It's also a stupid way of playing a flopped set... much worse than if he had TT.
