River overbet at 5/10, whats your play
Villain seems ok so far and hasn't gotten out of line too much, probably a modest winner in the game.
PF: I raise UTG to 40, he calls in the SB Flop: Qd 3h 8s I bet 70, he calls Turn: 6h Check check River: Ks If he bets $320, whats your calling range? If you have Q8 whats the largest bet you call here? KQ? AK? |

Re: River overbet at 5/10, whats your play
well if i had q8 i would never ever have checked the turn
i think you should fold almost all of your range here without a read or having seen him do it before |

With the hands you posted, I only ever get here with AK. QK and Q8 are easy turn bets.
I prob call /w AK fairly quickly. *edit - I actually never get here with AK either since I'd lead riv. If I got raised idk, prob fold though. |

Re: z
Weird spot, reads? I don't think this is a bluff very often... I wouldn't fold KQ, Q8 if I somehow checked the turn I'd prob fold.

Weird spot, reads? [/ QUOTE ] The only real pot we've been involved in was one where the table broke, and it had gotten HU for a while, I usually sit out, but hadn't clicked sitout yet. I raise to 35 with T6, he calls Flop: Td 8d 3h He checks, I bet 50, he makes it 135, I call Turn: Ac He bets 295, I call River: 8c He bets 730, I call, he has J9o So I definitely have the "value town him" image |

Re: River overbet at 5/10, whats your play
I dont think I would have gotten to the river like this with Q8 or KQ very often. I think given his betsize and the previous hand I would only be calling with KQ here. idk given his over bet I think two pair or a set are the most likely made hands he can have. Also given that you raised utg and he CC from the sb his range is probably weighted towards PP pretty heavily, which makes sets more likely. tough hand. Tbh I almost want to say fold kq but that seems incredibly weak tight and exploitable

Re: River overbet at 5/10, whats your play
hm depends on timing
also if that other hand happened first i would be more comfortable folding here but i prolly still call the 2P hands bc i can see him doing this for value with worse 2P i think i might call up to 2x pot with the 2p hands or around there... |

Re: River overbet at 5/10, whats your play
You wrote the hand up in a confusing way... you have position on him, but you have yourself acting first on the flop. He check/called you on the flop, and it went check/check on the turn.
NEVER should it go check/check on the turn when you have top two! |
