Re: Bravo Celebrity Poker
Games 1 and 3 were pretty good this season. The other 3 were not, with game 4 being particularly awful. I expect the championship this week to be at least better than games 2, 4 and 5.
Game 1 had a nice heads-up battle between Brian Cranston and Jason Alexander. Game 3 had Jennifer Tilly vs. Fred Savage vs. the online qualifier. |

Re: Bravo Celebrity Poker
Two of my favorites from past seasons:
1) Sailboats 2) Dule Hill! 3) Mom from Home Alone folding when getting 17-1 pot odds (pre-flop) for her remaining couple chips. After declining to play the hand heads-up, she was left with less than one big blind... Classic! Phil Gordon fell half-way out of his chair, as did I. mike TheRailbirds mike TheRailbirds |

I know this sounds stupid, but I've learned a lot from watching CPS on Bravo. It really takes you inside the mind of a fish, allowing you to crush them with even greater precision.

Re: Bravo Celebrity Poker
"I'd like to see a bigger raise here." (Repeat 100 times.)
Yes Phil II (aka The Duece), we realize that min betting and min raising with KTo on a AT4 flop is weak. Chris Meloni (who was nominated for an Emmy today) plays HU like a monkey. His opponent in the first round: "You check? I bet. You call? I bet the next street. No, your A-high is not good. You bet? I fold." And J-Till needs <something> stuck in her mouth. That shrill voice puts me on instant monkey tilt as soon as I hear it. So who won? Will Ed "Fantastic" Miller be on the next season? Who is logged on to bravotv.com trying for a chance to pimp slap weak-tight celebs in a 6-max S&G? |

Re: Bravo Celebrity Poker
This has the potential to be the greatest show of all-time if Hellmuth weren't such a pansy that he takes it easy on the celebrities. If he berated the celebrity play as harshly as he does the donks in the WSOP for example the viewing would be utterly hilarious and every episode would be classic.
Lame commentary: "I politely suggest that this person should probably, maybe raise a LITTTTLE bit bigger there" Excellent commentary: "Why oh why are you minraising A3o under the gun you donk? Fold that junk", etc. |
