Thoughts on Stars limit O8 players?
Seems to be a fairly small pool of regs, thought it might be useful to get some discussion on who the best/worst/whatever players are. I'm not good enough to judge who is good really, except for my favorite player Sonny Bill who seems to have been around forever [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
p.s. my id is Deanrover6, any comments on my play are welcome.

I always lose at 75/150 and half the guys I play against have VPIP's of over 40 for full table.
Im beginning to think it's rigged. /endsmallsamplesizebitch

Actually I am 26/13, are those stats optimal?
Btw I've found the general standard of play to be pretty terrible, Im gonna get good at this game and start destroying it next year.

[/ QUOTE ] My stats for you are over 7 hands, I was just joshin'. I am a 25/14 so we're most likely pretty similar. But yes, general play is pretty bad. Also, lately I have been destroying Full Tilt 100/200, but could just be crazy variance.

Interesting thing about 08 is that most players, good or otherwise, thik other players play terrible. I have seen people berate others for a play they themselves made 2 hands before. With the amount of money in the pot and the odds of hitting any of a number of backdoor draws, either hi or low, alot of loose bad play is not nearly as bad as it might seem

People seem never to fold backdoor lows. Or, more specifically if they raise pf and flop the backdoor nut low they are incapable of letting it go.
Also, the overplay of Aces in this game is criminal.

Im not saying all play is good, im just saying that plays are not as bad as they seem. In your backdoor low example.......if you add up all the possiblities of your oppoenent hittYing his backdoor low, or backdoor straight, or backdoor flush, or backdoor two pair, or many other things, the play is not always as -ev as you would think.
You opponent might think that you are on a low too, and a pair could win, or planning on checkraisin a brick to take it away from you, and when a low card comes they just call. My point is, look deeper into the play. There is, however, one play that to me signifies a very poor conceptual undersrtanding of the game. Drawing to multiple backdoor possiblities, especialy shorthanded, doesnt fit that for me. Then again, this is only my opinion and who am I?
