[ QUOTE ]
The George Bushes were barely mentioned in the thread. There were a few references to the Bush family, but primarily it wasn't about the current President. This is still American history. (And politics!)

[/ QUOTE ]
I like how you tacked on that little addendum there after the rest of your post basically states the opposite. Try again. How is Prescott Bush's dealings under WW II relevant for current politics?

Unless you're into nutty leftwing conspiracy theories involving skulls & bones, nazi gold, and God knows what else, I'm struggling to see the relevance.

That said, I would find a thread about Prescott Bush and his dealings interesting in another forum. Why not try OOT/TLDR/EGF?

My father once stole the Atari cartridge "Canyon Bomber" from a Bambergers.

My whole family is tainted as thieves.

I mean, I could understand if this was about Al Gore's drunk driving in and out of rehab son. Obviously that should have no effect on his candidacy.

But Prescott Bush allegedly tried to overthrow the United States government. I don't think discussing this is pushing 'familial guilt'. It's a big story even if his family doesn't spawn two Presidents.

Myself and my son have since become President.

The difference is a little bigger than you imply, yes?

iron,

"I created that rule because that type of thread makes me angry."

I think that's a retarded reason to censor threads of this nature. Of course a thread regarding a prominent politician's family (and I think Bush would qualify as such) is of relevance to political discussion.

It's great then that you have your own forum, where you can decide not to "censor" threads that make you angry.

Iron's decisions have worked pretty well for the most part in staving the Politics forum off from elimination. And I agree with him that what the guy's grandfather did is of so little relevance to present-day politics that it's not worth the retardation and aggravation that is going to be generated by a thread about it.

When I get the "Niss General Discussion" forum, which Mat tells me should be up next week, I am going to censor all posts except those by Vyse, pvn, and Bobojedafan. And tuq.

Surely this is a level. Right?

The dude who had his own forum created where one has to be "annointed" by him for the "privelege" of starting posts is ridiculing someone else's explained reason for keeping mostly irrelevant noise down in poli?
