I just called the reservations number, and they tell me they can't give that rate, you have to call the casino and ask for the poker room.

Casino's phone number direct is: 800-946-4946, ask for the poker room.

I just booked my room and was told that rooms are going fast already.

Room rates during labor day weekend will be Sunday - Thur $65, and on the weekend, it will range from $105- $115 a night.

Only the poker room can book you at the special rates, and be sure to guard your confirmation number with your life I was told, because they are expecting on selling out at that special rate very quickly.

Permit me one corrective comment.

The group code, second digit is a zero, not an oh.

And, reservations have to be made through Joe Mendoza in the poker room, as reservation agents are not able to access group code at this time.

I just copied and pasted it from the Press Release from the WSOP website (for the work based people since this website is accessable to most ppl from work, where as the WSOP webstite gets blocked). It's good information to have however, in case Joe isn't around when you call in.

FYI, in my 2nd post in the thread, I mentioned how I had to call the poker room direct.

That's who booked it for me too, and I warned him he was about to get slammed since this (information) was just released).

Another word of warning if you are going to be arriving after 6pm, one thing Joe didn't ask me is what time I'll be there, and he used the default of a 6pm hold.

Best now that you have your confirmation number, if you're arriving after 6pm, to call the reservation number after you book your room with Joe, and make sure they notate your late arrival status, and what time you'll be there.

Otherwise you might show up to find your reservation canceled and no other rooms open.

One other option is to make sure you tell Joe or whomever in the poker room books it for you, what time you'll be in there, so he can use the drop down box to indicate that and put it in the notes when he books it in their systems.

Interesting, about the group code, perhaps that was why the agents can't access it (because it was misprinted in the press release)?

Corrected code: CO9WORL (second one is a zero - think like this Co9WORL)

Next person to book a room, might try to call the reservation number, try with that corrected group code, and report back if the agents were able to book it that way or not.

I just called and booked a room from 8/29 thru 9/8 (sort of) via the central harrah's confirmation center out of Texas. I was quoted a room rate for Single King or Double Queen of
Mon - Thur $49
Fri $85
Sat - Sun $112

I also had them send me an email confirmation - BUT.....
they messed up and had me checking out on Saturday so they only booked me for 10 nights and NOT the Sat 9/8 and the total from the confirmation which should have been $688 + 10% tax or roughly $757 was show as $910 on the email confirmation.

I called again and while this person was ALSO very courteous and friendly could NOT explain the confirmed charge but DID confirm the nightly rates I posted.

I was given the 1-800-946-4946 (Grand Tunica) and the name of Karen Kaegin (poker room) to contact to try and straighten it out.

Next problem is that the SATURDAY 9/8 is NOT available at least through the Central Harrah's reservations so there does seem to already be some initial problems.

Geez: Classic Harrah's Karen K was the OLD poker room Mgr and has been gone for over a month.

Try asking for Robert Mcgevern (?) the current Mgr. - He does not work Monday but the staff was very helpful without him.
