Default Getting Back Into Online Poker.

First off all, I just joined and have already learned a ton from just reading this forum. I was a frequent poster on P5's but was banned after I told -AG- she looked like a man. I guess telling the truth is banable offense. Honestly if you've seen -AG- you know what I mean.

Anyways, why I'm here. I decided to take a 6 month break from playing any poker after I continued to lose due to my horrible poker skills and short temper. I lost a little over 4K, nothing to big to my savings, but the fact that I lost it being an idiot kills me.

I'm about to deposit $300 onto Stars and start all over again. My question is, is it worth it to try and grind at .25/.50 or does the rake make it a crap shoot? Should I just skip it all together and play .25/.50 6 max and grind that out. Or am I all together making a horrible BR decision by playing .25/.50?

Your suggestions and any help you can give is appreciated, I need it.

CLIFFNOTES:
I suck at poker.
I'm coming back after 6 month break.
I need help.

Serious response:

Six buyins is way too few for 6m 50NL, much less HU 50NL. Aba recommends 10 buyins for building a roll, most normal people need 20-30. I wouldn't even bother with HU 50nl, since the rake is brutal.

My advice is try $10 HUSNGs. They're good bankroll builders, so I've heard.

Alright I will try those out.

Now, what should be my goal for hourly winnings? I can play up to 4 at a time with no problem, but will obviously play less if it would be your opinion to do so.

I wouldn't focus on your hourly winrate right away. If you were less than successful in your previous poker adventures not only is it excellent advice to build your bankroll through the HUSNG's but you can evaluate your win percentage effectively to judge if more times than not you come out ahead of your opponents. Focus on your raw bankroll, build X hundred dollars into X thousand dollars and evaluate whether or not your are a >55% winner. That should then give you the cushion and confidence to think bigger and try other games.

This is highly unlikely, unless you have a *huge* amount of past experience playing HUSNGs. Many experienced players have trouble with more than 2, and plenty just play one at a time.

My concentration is better than my playing ability. I can play up to 4 at one time, obviously doing nothing else.

I see where you're going with this however, and if I can't win playing just one at a time, why play 4?
I'll stick to one table.

I'm going to set a goal before I deposit. I'll check back when I meet it. I appreciate the suggestions.

Maybe you can play 4 at a time, but i think you should focus on 1 maybe 2 tables since your previous result were not that good. Good luck.
