Default First round, JJ $50 on FTP

No real read on villain... only thing that makes me want to call this is his position (why would you push a good hand IP)... maybe that's overthinking.

FWIW, I do not fold QQ early in tournaments at low stakes in HU pots.

I'm Folding this unless I really want to gamble early. You can always find a better spot than this later in the tournament. I think you are ahead here a reasonable amount, but your getting no odds to call.

I would love to hear more opinions.

If we knew villain had AK we'd call this all day long right?

This is not true...an action (bet;call;fold), regardless of what stage/blind level of a tournament is either EV+;EV-; or EV neutral. I don't think folding is bad here if u are not able to assign a range for the 3-bet AI, but if he turned AK faceup i hope that u would call.

Actually, there are a fair number of people out there who play QQ+ this way, but you'll also see 88-JJ and AK a lot too. If you want to gamble, then call, but I see no great harm in folding this either. It's one of those questions that doesn't really have much of an answer, because donkeys who shove 50BB over a single raise are mostly split into two camps: the "QQ+,AK" camp and the "88-JJ,AK" camp -- you have either an easy call or an easy fold. If you try to naively combine those two ranges into one, then JJ is 52% vs. a range of 88+,AK so I usually call here and court variance.

Oh, and of course we turbo call if we know he has AK here.

I'd snap call. I think in the LR there are more retards that show 77 here than retards that show AA.

Yes.

As it is, we know that villain has a range heavily weighted away from QQ+ and towards 77-TT, AK and we make the call very happily.
