any fantasy league allowing this kind of thing would almost certainly be terrible

I've found that trading future picks should be limited to the offseason. If it's a keeper league and you trade for a keeper, that's different. Money should never be involved. Your team isn't that bad. You must be new to fantasy football, because in an H2H league, anything can happen in the postseason.

Standings for those who wonder how,
and it's not that I don't think I could finish close to .500 it's that I have no shot at taking it all.

You still blew up your team way too early. I don't know your whole roster, but the guys you mentioned have a solid chance to be very good going forward, and all of them have excellent 15-16 matchups.

And unless your trade deadline is this week, you could have waited another couple weeks to see if you improved, and still been able to sell your guys off at maybe even higher prices if you didn't. Whatever, though...

$4 per transaction blows ass. I wouldn't even participate in this league again.

I dunno, this seems perfectly fair to me, and if you don't like it, you shouldn't join a league that is set up like this to begin with.

What does everyone think about dumping their bad team in a non-keeper league when you are in last place? I'm seriously considering this.

I think it is just a really bad idea in general. In theory it seems fine but I just don't think it will play out like you think it will. The real life salary cap machinations of an NFL franchise won't translate to fantasy football. You'll most likely alienate a bunch of people in the league by doing this and if you lose anyone next year, how are you going to replace them? No way would I join a league where my team was crappy and I know there are 2 teams with 10 draft picks in the first few rounds.

Not to mention the fact that this really doesn't reward the owners who are active and ahead of the game. When anyone can just pony up 20$ to get a good player it just seems to go against what should be making these leagues fun.

The only way this works is if this is and has always been a keeper league, and if the people in the league are total sports nuts who are as into this as you are. Keep us posted how it all works out.

Have you ever played fantasy football before? Dude, there is a very decent non-zero possibility that you end up first place in your division. 2 games back is nothing. And it's not like you're insanely behind in points. Hell, if you have JUST ONE big week, you're right back in it. How many teams make the playoffs?
