Re: PLO8-HUSNG-fish needs help
I think 2245 is a very much a playable HU PLO8 hand. My observation is that some players raise too many hands HU and get caught with their pants down sooner or later, but this is not a bad hand to raise with, and you're not terribly far behind when villain reraises so you shouldn't fold but you should call, which you did.
And HU, any set should be a green light, especially with the outside straight draw and backdoor flush. I'm fine with this as played. |

Re: PLO8-HUSNG-fish needs help
Shouldnt i fold on the flop because its likely he has A5 and scoo9ps the pot?

Re: PLO8-HUSNG-fish needs help
What makes you think it's likely he has A5? He could have a big pair, he could have a set, he could have air and think that this is a scary board and a PSB would push you off of anything other than A5?
Even If V does have A5 30% of the time (random number no math), you've got any 6 or ace to chop, and any board pair or 2 to chop, so there's really very few hands V could have where you're dead in the water. If you plan to play so cautiously as to fold this flop, maybe you shouldn't build big pots preflop. If you don't consider this flop favorable HU, does this mean you would be worried about any non-nut low with a weak high, and you'd give those up too? |

Re: PLO8-HUSNG-fish needs help
Hmmm... Guess youre right.
I think im just too inexperienced right now, i dont feel comfortable with situations like these yet. It was just like "omfg i have i set = nuts = push" and then "omfg he raises i dont know what to do = push" anyway, thx |

Re: PLO8-HUSNG-fish needs help
The play in these things is pretty awful at that level, and I'd play it the same.
A fold preflop would be correct against some, but if you think your call preflop is +ev you needy to be read to get it in pretty light sometimes. |
