No love for the 49ers. They recover two onside kicks and both of them are penalized.

[/ QUOTE ]

The first one (offsides) was complete BS. They showed it the replay and everyone was clearly still behind the line when the ball was kicked, and the guy they threw the flag on was the furthest back of the bunch.

(Is it obvious I started Alex Smith?)

Legit question here which is hard to give a good answer to right now I think but....

Who has a better D? Ind or Was?

[/ QUOTE ]

Indy and NE are 1 and 2 in OFF DVOA and 6 and 5 in DEF DVOA coming into week 8. The Pats have a significant advantage in ST DVOA.

FWIW thinking about this objectively... isn't booting a FG running up the score more then giving the D a chance to stop on 4th and after that?

No. A FG is in and of itself a conession. Going for it on 4th is definitely a feeling of going for the jugular.

(I don't have anything wrong with what the Pats are doing.. and I'm anti Patriots, I just disagree with that comment)

You're wrong about the FG. It's always been considered bad form going for the FG with a big lead at the end.

Guaranteeing 3 more points isnt worse then giving the D a chance to stop them and hold it to 0 more pts?

I have never in my life heard that.. and I have seen it happen probably hundreds of times and never seen anyone even question it.
