Default Bottom set facing aggression 400NL

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($402.10)
UTG+1 ($385)
MP1 ($58)
MP2 ($857.30)
Hero ($789.60)
Button ($278.40)
SB ($464.55)
BB ($504.85)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
3 folds, MP2 raises to $16, Hero calls $16, Button calls $16, 2 folds.

Flop: ($54) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP2 bets $32, Hero raises to $84, Button folds, MP2 calls $52.

Turn: ($222) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP2 bets $152, Hero ??

Villian had been fairly passive post flop. He was 19/4/2 or so. The turn bet suprised me a little. Does this look like a big pair, set, FD??

What's your plan here keeping in mind we started about 200bbs deep?

I think I call and reevaluate the river. Hes probably the type that can get away from QQ+ here if we shove.

88 isnt that likely here because of his stats so I think call turn, probably get it in on a safe river. (Keep in mind I dont play this high so my advice might be useless)

Happy Birthday btw

Since you're so deep, I guess I call the turn and value bet the river.

The thing that bothers me is how passive the guy had been. If he has AA wouldn't he just 3 bet the flop?

Then when he bet the turn I really felt like I was behind but couldn't find a fold. Anyway, here's how it played out.

I actually time banked before calling river I was so confident I was behind, but I'm not good enough to fold a set on this board.

Final Pot: $1126

Results in white below:
MP2 has Td Th (three of a kind, tens).
Hero has 4s 4c (three of a kind, fours).
Outcome: MP2 wins $1126.

I guess this explains why he lead the turn and didn't 3bet the flop. I guess by just calling and not raising the turn I at least saved myself a couple hundred.

I think you played this well, though the raise on the flop is too small.

Flop raise should be bigger.

As played I would raise turn.

As played rvr call is standard.

[censored], man I wish you hadn't posted results. I was going to say call down since he has TT a lot imo and won't stack off overpairs anyways. You played it well.

I'm not sure. I don't think I'd make a much bigger flop raise. If we knew the villain had what he had, we wouldn't be looking to blow him off his hand drawing that slim. Most of the time the villain isn't going to have a FD and we really want to keep him in the pot for a while.
