Default I made a bad fold and am beating myself up about it

There were horrible players out in force yesterday due to the holiday and I won 8 buyins in 4000 hands at the NL100 level.
Then last evening things were back to normal with alot of the regulars, but still some bad players.

I played this hand, I have QQ in the CO, and raise to 3.50, and the SB calls (he is a 11/0/2.5) over 1000 hands and a solid regular. Flop comes QT8 all spades. He bets, I raise, he 3 bets small, I call. Turn rag. He bets 2/3 pot, I call. River rag. He bets $25 and I fold. He turns over KK with the king of spades. It was $25 to win $100 and I folded top set because I thought he had the flush.

Obviously, it is not the money because I won 8 times that much, but I can't stop being angry with myself.

How do I move on and not be so angry at myself for this mistake?

We all do that from time to time. Just get back to the tables and you'll play so many more hands you'll forget about that one.

I doubt I will forget.

For example:

another bad laydown from 2 months ago. Folded TT on the river on a board of 99T2Q.

bad suckout from 4 years ago. AJ v J4 allin for 3 buyins on AJ4 flop. Turn 4.

Never fold the top set.

Doubt this is correct either.
But for that price it was an obvious call.

There is nothing that tilts me more than making mistakes. Words can't express how angry it makes me. The only thing that can moderate that anger is by studying the hand, thinking about and running through a bunch of similar scenarios in my mind so that I am prepaired for the next time and the correct action seems natural.

Regarding this particular hand I'm not sure that your error is simply not calling the 25 for 100. Imo, your error is on the flop and turn and takes place in your mind. When he 3bets you on the flop you need to come to decisions right there. If you decide that you are drawing and think you have odds to the boat on the next card then you can call but must fold to the 2/3pot bet when the turn blanks. That's one line. The other is to decide you are in the lead and to try to get all the money in on the turn knowing that your opponent wont-and shouldn't- fold flop if you push given his probable draw so you should just push turn in position.

First of all, the fact that he showed you the KK is not the reason you should know this was a bad fold. I don't want to start spreading strategy to the psych forum, but getting 4:1 on this river is an obvious call and I assume you already know that. (Actually there may be an argument for a raise.)

The best way to stop beating yourself up over these kinds of one-off mistakes is to simply post the hand for discussion in SSNL. (Leaving off your river decision and the fact that he showed his hand after the fold.) That way you know you are focusing on correct long-term play and not short-term individual events.

There is no need for strategy discussion because I know I made a bad mistake. Also, there is no good argument for a raise, since no worse hand is calling for 50 more.

This is a psychology issue, because I am so mad at myself for this major error.

Minor errors and small pots don't hurt. But, errors like these hurt the winrate so much it is unbelievable.

If he showed a flush then it would be a great read and saving a 1/4 of a buyin.
