Default TPGK raised on river

Villain in this hand is 34/17/1.45

He had been calling my c-bets very light so I decided not to bet the flop this time. My plan was to bet any J,A or blank turn card if he checked flop behind.

Party Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

Hero (CO): $110.04
BTN: $103.63
SB: $100.85
BB: $100
UTG: $103.51
MP: $29.15

Pre-Flop: J A dealt to Hero (CO)
2 folds, <font color="red">Hero raises to $4</font>, BTN calls $4, 2 folds

Flop: ($9.50) 5 8 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($9.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $6</font>, BTN calls $6

River: ($21.50) 4 (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $12</font>, <font color="red">BTN raises to $38</font>, Hero

If he tends to call your cbets light then a flop check is fine. On the turn i would bet a bit more. ~7.5$.

On the River we can c/c or b/f. I like to bet there but i would probably bet a bit more again and then fold to his raise.

IMO betsizing is fine here, but im of course open for suggestions.

I really don't like c/c river. I think we loose so much value by doing so. I was trying to get value out of a PP or 8x on the river. These hands will check behind all day.

well your betsizing is only correct if your doing this to induce a bluff, therefore you must call.

Your river bet looks a bit scared. So some villains may tend to bluffraise you there after they missed a draw or something else. That's y I would bet a bit more here. If you make 15$ you will less likely be raised by air.

This is fine if you folded.

he is 34/17/1.45 - Maybe checking would induce him to bluff but a half pot bet?

well I might be way off here, but I still say that riverbet is ok.. 15$ might be better though idk

bet more on the turn. $8 or so, then fire $15 on the river. what is his river agression. sample size? if you have a large sample you can see his raise river stats, and won at showdown when raised River. i would call here if he has a fairly large river agression (ie - more than 2)
