Default AC or Foxwoods, the dilemma

Ive been to AC once a couple of Saturday nights ago and the action was pretty juicy, a couple donks made it ultra juicy though, was playing 1/2 NL by the way at the Borgata.

My questions are as follows, and I appreciate all the help you guys give

1. Is during the week going to be a huge disappointment for me compared to what I saw on the weekend?

2. How does foxwoods compare for both weekend and weekday games of 1/2 NL?

3. I saw a 60 dollar a night hotel rate for Tuesday night at the Super 8 Groton, should I just go with that or what, poker rate rooms dont really know about that much in foxwoods? Im looking for a clean bed where my car isnt going to get stolen, thats about it.

4. Im driving from the Nassau/Queens border for all you NYers, is this gonna suck driving up on a weekday, what time should I leave to I get up to foxwoods for some good action but dont get stuck in a heap of traffic?

Thanks alot guys. As always twoplustwoers are the most knowledgable.

You might try the search function, as there have been past threads on Foxwoods that will be useful to you. To improve the signal:noise ratio, try searching on +Foxwoods -Re:

As someone who's been to both many times, I've got to strongly recommend sticking with AC. The 1/2 NL action is similarly juicy at each, but the FW room just has really poor dealers and management. You'll get many fewer hands/hour there. I think you'll find few posters here with similar drive times to FW and AC that regularly choose to play at FW.

Also add +AC since this really does come up fairly often.

You meant choose to play at AC, right?

Are you suggesting I made a typo or are you doing a "FYP" type of thing? As I re-read my post, I intended to say what I said: given an equal drive time to either, I think the vast majority of posters here are regularly choosing AC over Foxwoods.

Motel 6 in Niantic,CT, clean, relatively new and safe. $66 plus tax this Friday night. Around 20 minute drive to Foxwoods. Borgata comps you $2/hr but charges 2 comp dollars per dollar spent effectively reducing comps to $1/hr. Foxwoods was $2/hr and I heard they went to $3/hr as the Mohegan Sun poker room nears completion but I don't know what betting levels this would apply to, if true. Foxwoods has a nice snack bar right off the poker room too. As for game quality, there didn't seem to be much difference at the 10/20 and 20/40 LHE games between the two.

Regarding traffic, it's real bad on 95 going to Foxwoods after around 2 PM. Pick your spots. BTW..I'm equi-distant from both casinos and would take Foxwoods by a nose due to the cheaper weekend hotel rates and better comps for the games I play, all other things being equal.

This is bad info for 1/2 NL. Comp at Borgata is $1/hour. Charging 2 comp dollars per dollar spent is only at certain places; it isn't hard to spend your comp dollars at full value.

Wrong. Good info...food and concession stands are 2 for 1. I heard at 6 a.m. some food may be 2 for 2 for a short time but that's about it. And the 2/hr is for 10/20 and 20/40 LHE. I assumed it was for all games.

Food is 1 for 1 at least at the buffet. And I'm pretty certain it is 1 for 1 on all room charges as well.

Food is 1 for 1 at any restaurants owned and operated by the Borg. This includes The Metropolitan, NOW, the Buffet, any of the fine dining restaurants, and I believe Bread & Butter. Basically the only places comp dollars are charged 2-for-1 are the Cafeteria and the retail stores.

I use all my comp dollars at sit-down restaurants and find it quite easy to spend them all.

Another big difference is that Woods times their nl games. I think it is rake at the Borg.
