Default Question about showing cards in Cash Game (PStars vs. Full Tilt)

Just had a question about showing your cards in a cash game (vs. a Tournament). This is specifically related to playing online at Poker Stars and Full Tilt.

On Full Tilt - In a cash game, when I'm all-in and there are still cards to come, Full Tilt shows everyone's cards.

On Poker Stars - In a cash game, when I'm all-in and there are still cards to come, No cards are disclosed until showdown and then only the winner's cards are shown.

Are there any official "rules" behind this? If you dont have to show your cards, why does Full Tilt display them with cards to come? Also, in contradiction to PStars not showing any cards in a cash game.. they do show cards in a Tournament (when your all-in, with cards to come). Any comments?

Rules depend on the site/casino.

Most casinos don't reveal cards in all-in situations in a cash game until showdown. There are exceptions however (Casino Rama in Toronto in one of those exceptions).

Open up hand history and you can see what their cards were.

I think the reason Stars doesn't flip the cards up on an all-in is so that some dufus doesn't pull the plug on his modem when he sees that his q7s ran into a real hand. Evidently, this was quite common in the days of all-in protection. And, probably would still happen because it's just annoying.

Just my best guess.

Eh? How does pulling the plug on your modem help? You are already all-in so all-in protection doesn't make any difference. The action is over, we are just waiting for the turn/river cards to fall I can’t see why Stars doesn’t show the cards like FT, other than to personally annoy me.
