Good Omaha book?
Hello everyone.
I've recently started fooling around playing Pot Limit Omaha and find myself enjoying that game a lot and want to take it up a notch. Are there any good books about all variants of Omaha? Thanks in advance. |

1. If you are thinking of playing Omaha...DON'T!
2. Try looking around a bit more. There are lots of threads on this. But, sice I'm already here, Ciaffone's book is a good introduction to Omaha. |

Re: Good Omaha book?
I have read the Ciaffone's book, the championship Omaha, texts from Rolf and 2+2 forum, the super system II, the Ciaffone + Reuben book and done software study and thinking. I couldn't beat 25c-50c anywhere from 5 to ten players (some stars, ub, party, little prima, boss).
I did do some mistakes, mainly called some bets at river too loose, but other than that I haven't found anything too much wrong though I am already changing my style and I have some ideas. "How not to lose at online PLO" would be the book I would get next, but while I am waiting for that I have now added Poker Tracker Omaha and I am collecting data from my play and from observed tables and I am trying to figure out how not to lose at that game. |

[ QUOTE ]
Whats the single best book for Omaha Hi/Low [/ QUOTE ] There is no single best book for Omaha, or for Omaha Hi/Low, or for any other game. If you want to master a game, you have to read every thing you can find on the subject, and think about what best applies to you and to the games that you play and to the opponents that you play against. You have to read the discussions here, and read ALL the books recommended in those discussions. Then you have to go to the forum for the game you are interested in, and read the FAQ there, and read back through hundreds of posts, and read ALL the recommended books and posts you come across. And then do further research on the authors cited in those posts. And then you have to go back and study all of that stuff over and over again. And again. No single book is going to teach you to beat any game consistently. |

Re: Good Omaha book?
I think Mason has said that he doesn't see A PLO book as having a large enough audience. I really wish he would reconsider. A 2+2 book on PLO would do wonders for expanding the popularity of the game. Rolf's book is good, but I dream about a 2+2 take on the game.
