Re: What sports moment made you the happiest/saddest?
Happiest is 2004 ALCS/WS with 2001 SB a close second.
Saddest is easily the Aaron Boone game, although it was a lot sadder watching Grady let Pedro blow it than watching the eventual final shot |

Re: What sports moment made you the happiest/saddest?
Happiest: Super Bowl 31, Desmond Howard's kickoff return to put the Packers back up by 14 and pretty much seal the win
Saddest: 4th & 26 vs Philly 2003 playoffs Also Super Bowl 32, although I always liked Elway as a kid so I was happy for him to finally win one. |

Re: What sports moment made you the happiest/saddest?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] example: Game 6 of the 1998 finals Jordan over Russell missed that because of channel flipping/"oh the game is over" >:-( [/ QUOTE ] dude, seriously.. you deserve it. This is inexcusable. The Bills/Oilers makes some sense. This.. none at all. [/ QUOTE ] I think you misunderstood what I said. I didn't have control of the remote. And it drove me nuts that I couldn't watch the end of the game. The person in control of the remote was like "it's over" and it pissed me off that I missed the historic sports moment. Make sense now? |

Re: What sports moment made you the happiest/saddest?
I've had a ton of ups and downs from sports in my life, but I think my happiest memory is still my first.
It was the fall of 1990 and I was six years old when my dad took me to Autzen Stadium for my first game. I didn't understand football well enough yet to have any idea how much it meant that the #4 team in the country, BYU, was coming to Eugene to play against the unranked Ducks. I didn't know, nor would I have known enough to care, that I was seeing that year's Heisman Trophy winner, Ty Detmer, play, though I do remember being thrilled by the fact that "the other team's quarterback" had the same first name as me. It didn't bother me that it was spelled differently. I honestly don't remember anything football related from the game, other than that people around me seemed to think Bill Musgrave was doing really well and that people seemed very happy. What I do remember is asking my dad, after the game ended with a 32-16 Duck victory, "That means we doubled their score, right?". I remember the pure elation of being part of that crowd. I remember my dad lifting me on my shoulders as I continued to shout to anyone who would listen that "We doubled their score!" I remember the high-fives from random strangers, and I remember celebrating what I now know was one of the most important wins in the history of the program I love. As scattered as the memories are, nothing sports-related is ever going to top that moment in my life. It's a huge part of the reason I love sports as much as I do, and 17 years later I still won't be able to stop smiling for hours, having just written this. Saddest moment? I can't think of anything right now, I'll get back to you when the 17 year old jubilation wears off, GO DUCKS!!! |
