Default Software idea...

This would mainly be for limit poker.

A program that would somehow convert the dollar amount you have at the table into BB's. So, say you are playing 2/4 and cash in with $200, it would be displayed as 50BB's. This would help people to focus on the "bets" rather than the actual money. So, instead of calling $12 on the turn, it would be 3 bets. It would also simplify some of the math.

Don't know if this has been done before or could be done, but I think alot of people would find it useful.

i'd use it. especially when moving up, it would help keep one from thinking "OMFG I'm stuck $XXX", when $XXX may only be 8 bets.

Although you get a similar effect calculating all bets as a percentage of the pot, which carries over better to NL.

It's been done already, DollarToBB - by Jukofyork.

Probably broken since the latest Party upgrade.

There is a big thread in on it in this forum somewhere - search is letting me down right now so no link, but I think it was started by "The Funky Llama".

App had some serious promise, but I think there was trouble with of you played different limits at the same time or if you played NL. Can't quite remember correctly, but it certainly worked for some...

Worth finding the thread, anyway

DollarToBB was no script - I'm not sure it would be even possible with script, and if it was it would be hugely complicated.

Juk's program IIRC is written in C++, and injects itself into the Party code, dynamically re-writing any function that draws $ amounts into BBs - not an easy thing to do

Just given it a quick try, and it seems to be totally broken for me too (it doesn't even load the dialog box now for some strange reason?).

It may be something pretty simple to fix (as might PartyPopupBuster), but it will have to wait a few days until I get some time to look into fixing it.
