Default Best way to get started?

Went to Ultimate Bet to start playing for real $$$, but they would not accept my bank debit card. UB said that my financial institution denied the transfer because UB is a "gambling website!" Is this common? What is the best way to get started? Any particular sites?

Neteller is the best way to shift money from and to Poker sites. It's free, they only charge a small fee to withdraw (and a fee to deposit if you use a credit/debit card iirc).

Don't start at UB. If you already opened an account there you've likely cost yourself money already. I don't know how much money you have at your disposal and what limits you are going to play, but I suggest you start at PokerStars no matter what. They don't have a first deposit bonus you can miss by not depositing the max and they don't have that which we may not talk about here (but which you want to have on the sites that offer it, like UB).

Plus, the competition at Stars is a lot softer than at UB and they have a lot more tables running.

One of the easiest ways to make deposits and move money around Online Poker sites is to open a Neteller account, www.neteller.com.

neteller is yourbest option, but for some young people, they can't verify you based only on your SS#, so you have to scan you SS card and drivers liscense and send the images to them..

epassporte kind of sucks, but all you need with them is a bank account..and you can have it open in less than 1 day..

but try neteller first..epassporte is the ghetto neteller

LOL wish this was my case. (I'm 36) I just got married last year so this may be why mine's not matching. I didn't have this problem at firpay for some reason tho.

Some credit cards get rejected at some sites. If you have a seperate ATM card, that may work for site you want to play. (It did for me at Stars)
