Why not hold equities in the currency you want?

you mean buy companies that operate in other countries but are traded on the nyse?

I meant buy, for example, a European index fund from a European fund company. Obviously the fund is denominated in EUR and will earn more long-term than a EUR savings account equivalent.

yeah, i have these already as long term investments, but i want to keep some lower variance investments for short-term. (i don't want to lose 25% of my net worth if a recession hits like everyone is alluding towards.)
