Re: 30/60, defending with kq
Against this guy opening from MP1, getting 5-1 closing the action, I think you have to call. This is such a dry board on the flop that I also would go for a checkraise here, you flopped a very strong hand. On the turn when the second broadway card hits and a Flushdraw develops, I would usually call down after being raised against an unknown. One thing to keep in mind here is you have basically represented a total BS hand. Any time the last guy to act on the flop checkraises here after everyone else has folded, the PFR will suspect that youre on some kind of a play more often then normal so he will give you less respect then normal for the rest of the hand.
The only problem here is this guy is pretty passive, but I would still call down here, the dynamics of the situation make me want to see a showdown here. |

defend big blind with KQ ? of course you do. MP1 can have loads and loads of hands which you beat. It's far closer to a raise than a fold!
I think the fold is ok against someone with aggression .9 ; otherwise I would call down with KQ against that turn raise mostly. |

I would call down once raised on the turn. The other 2 streets look good.

Re: 30/60, defending with kq
There is no way I'm folding this hand at the Party 30. And yeah the blind call is very easy - I'm calling with much worse here against this guy.

Re: 30/60, defending with kq
i am assuming that since this guy is not all that aggressive, you figured that he had AK and you were cooked. maybe, but imo not seeing a SD here is horrible. you managed to blow SB from the pot on the flop, so you no longer have to worry about him. if you're really worried about being beaten by AK, check/call the turn. but betting is still the best play by far. call his turn raise and call the river. he could just as easily have KJ here.
