Re: AK against unknowns\' bet and raise
1. I like a fold or a big raise (~9) pre-flop.
2. The best option seems to be a big (pot commiting) raise. I don't really like this line but I can't think of anything better. I really dislike this situation which is why I generally apply point #1. |

Re: AK against unknowns\' bet and raise
If you re-raise pre-flop to 9 and you get 1 caller, making the pot $20, and you miss the flop, what do you do on the Flop? A potsized bet commits you to call a check-raise as you are getting good odds to hit your overcards to win a huge pot. What do you do if he bets a small amount that doesn't give you odds to call yet is too small to just fold to? Do you continuation bet and if so how much and why?

[/ QUOTE ] If UTG is the lone caller he will have 24 left and their will be 20 in the pot. Assuming AK misses. 1. If he checks, I will push. 2. If he open pushes or makes a pot committing bet I will fold. In this scenario I think a likely hand for the villain would be a middle to small pair making a stop and go play. If MP1 or MP2 is the lone caller then their play is quite bad. This could be a bad played big pair but I don't think that will often be the case. My best guess would be is that one of them would be gambling to just flop a set. So, if they check I will usually bet and expect to take it down w/ my "overpair". If they reraise all in, I think even w/ the good odds you have to fold w/o a pair or a draw. |
