Re: Small pot, good draw
Thanx for the responses. Pot is small, I have a good draw so it could make sense to call and build a bigger one. Then again, won't get much action when a third c falls. Raising makes it unprofitable for the other guys to chase draws and I could get to see turn/river for free if UTG+2 folds. As someone mentioned, if I get HU on the turn UI much can be said for betting out also.
Hand played as follows: Flop: (3 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, Hero raises, UTG+2 folds, SB calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. River: (5.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. Final Pot: 5.50 BB Results in white below: SB has 9s Jh (one pair, jacks). Hero has 7c Tc (high card, queen). Outcome: SB wins 5.50 BB. |

Re: Small pot, good draw
raise and pump up the pot so you can make your pot odds call if you wif on the turn.

Re: Small pot, good draw
No, I won't pump the pot for that reason. I'm around 1:2-1:3 at this point so any bet I put there is break even seen in isolation. Raising for the other reasons i gave is not bad though imho.
ETA: Look up pot equity. |

Re: Small pot, good draw
If memory servers correctly, ssh recommends to pump up the pot with a flush draw on the flop.

Re: Small pot, good draw
well if it's very multiway or you have more than just the draw, ie you have ak spades and it's 782 with two spades, so your overs are probably good also, yes, put some jam on that. but if you are reasonably sure that your opponent has tp or better (or even a pair i think) and all you have is a flush draw, hu or 3way there's not much benefit to mashing it up assuming you don't have any fold equity.

Re: Small pot, good draw
unfortunately it's rare that you have ak spades and there's a bet and seven callers to you on the 782 with two spades flop!

[ QUOTE ]
If memory servers correctly, ssh recommends to pump up the pot with a flush draw on the flop. [/ QUOTE ] With my 12 outs I "own" 25% of the pot. I have to contribute 33% of all the money going in from the flop and onwards so I loose 8% of each bet I put there. So, in this situation it's not correct to pump the pot. |

Re: Small pot, good draw
WIth the bet from sb you have 4:1 and pot odds and an easy call. By raising you may lose utg and you just bought yourself a card. If utg and SB call you are getting 2:7 which is good implied odds. I still like a raise here.

Re: Small pot, good draw
Yes slicer. That's what I said also. I was arguing against your suggestion that I should raise to build the pot which is wrong thinking in this situation.

Re: Small pot, good draw
Call, there is no reason to shut UTG+1 out of this pot.
Folding would be stupid. |
