Default pretty interesting hand

First orbit, no reads.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed) TightPoker converter

BB ($73.60)
UTG ($140.85)
UTG+1 ($237.50)
MP1 ($47)
MP2 ($83.70)
CO ($50)
Hero ($98.50)

SB ($80.60)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $1.
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $4</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, CO (poster) calls $3, Hero calls $4, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($13.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $12</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $24</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero ??? </font>

Afterwards I did some hardcore math calculations and found out that out of the three choices- Pot Raise, Smaller Raise, and Call- one stands out as clearly best. Which line do you usually take and why?

I think this is an easy all-in which is like 4 bucks over a pot-raise. As for the reasoning.

1. CO is coming along no matter what.
2. If UTG is willing to call a raise, he is calling any raise (imo). No reason to let him get away on an action-killing turn.

If I am sure UTG will call, I'd call, but I might hate myself for it because I HATE calling! People minraise their draws all the time. A call from you would give the UTG odds to call whatever the hell he has, but a push from you will probably fold UTG out and you will not get his money in the pot if in fact you ARE beat and you need to draw for your boat (and you'll need his money for odds). But I'm no pooh-bah, so don't listen

I can see absolutely no reason for anything but a push here. You miles ahead of AA/KK/99/88 and only slightly behind a strt. CO is coming along 100% of the time, and I'm not too sure how often UTG folds AA/KK to a push, but he folds it the same % of the time to a smaller raise.

calling is just ugly. Pretty much every turn card sucks

Y, try to represent pair+straight-draw or pair+flush-draw or something and hope overpair tags along.
