Skiing in Eastern Canada.
So I'm planning a ski trip to Eastern Canada -- looking at Quebec and Ontario.
Where should I go? I've looked into more upscale places like Blue Mountain, but I've also looked at smaller places (like Mont Cascades outside of Ottawa) which could be considerably less expensive. The major problem I'm having is that outside of Tremblant and Blue Mountain, I have no good sense of what resorts are well-reviewed. I don't require the top-of-the-line resort as I'm still a novice skiier, although I will be with friends who are slightly more experienced that me and will want something nice. Let me know if you need more info. The timing of the trip would be mid to late March. Is this too late? |

Tremblant is the only answer.

Re: Skiing in Eastern Canada.
I should mention that Tremblant is not an option.
(Long story short is that my travel plans are dictated on where I can get cheap lodging rates...I work for a hotel company, but can't get them everywhere on every date.) I guess I'm mainly looking for reviews of smaller places which are reasonable drives from major cities/towns. |

Is there a reason you're going up to Canada and not the eastern US? Again dictated by the whole cheap lodging thing?

Re: Skiing in Eastern Canada.
I live in Ontario and trust me you want to go to Quebec, Blue Mountain is just not big enough to actually plan a vacation there, you will not have nearly as much fun as if you went to Tremblant or Le Massif(very good from what I hear)

Re: Skiing in Eastern Canada.
Eastern US is doable as well, although yeah, for the same reason it's not as doable...we (Starwood) don't have too many places near skiing in the Northeast. If you suggest something though I can look into it.

Thanks. I should have also mentioned that a review site would have been great as well.

Killington is a gigantic, obnoxious area with a lot of obnoxious people. can be fun, though. both of these areas have plenty of terrain to keep novice and very good skiers happy. Jay Peak is probably the best pure skiing in the Eastern US, but it's highly doubtful you have any properties there. there are plenty of other places, but probably not too many that fit your criteria |

Mont St-Anne just outside of Quebec City is excellent. Check it out:
